Quality Engineer

1to1 Recruitment are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer, to join a global manufacturing company based in Winchester, who specialise in the field of Electromechanical, covering a broad range of markets.
The Quality Engineer will be an agent for change. They will possess a strong character to drive change throughout the organisation and will be a “decision-maker” whose natural inclination is to base decisions on facts and data.
Main responsibilities of the role:
·Responsible for oversight of the quality-related performance of assigned product streams
·Conformity of product; compliance to design, customer and regulatory requirements
·To assure the conformance of manufacturing to the defined processes and related information
·Capture and analyse manufacturing metrics to identify trends, gaps and opportunities for improvement; and facilitating the realisation of those improvements
·Assist with machine and process capability studies using data and statistical techniques
·Support the running of trials and other process improvement initiatives
·Ensure the containment, control, analysis, disposition and learning from product or process non-conformance utilising PDCA principals
·Provide assurance and conformity in relation to staff training and skills, and records thereof
·Implement and support the 5S and workflow improvement activities in manufacturing areas
·Ensure adequate product configuration identification throughout manufacturing
·Ensure adequate installation and control of fixtures, jigs and tooling and calibration/maintenance thereof
·Generate and maintain Quality Control Plans and process flow charts to support manufacturing processes
·Adjudication and supporting technical liaison with suppliers on part concerns and rejections
·To be considered for this role you must be have the following knowledge and skill set;
·Root cause analysis and problem solving using modern recognised quality tools and techniques – A3, QRQC, 8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys, FMEA, SPC…
·Utilisation of continuous improvement techniques such as lean manufacturing, process mapping, Poka-Yoke, 5S, wastes elimination
Required skills, experience and education:
·A relevant mechanical or electro-mechanical HNC or higher qualification, and/or quality improvement toolbox and culture change experience, will be beneficial for this role.
·An electronics background would also be advantageous.
·Application of quality tools and techniques such as data and non-conformance capture; FMEA; process analysis; documenting process flows, control plans and SOPs; lean manufacturing; process improvements and trials; root cause analysis; and SPC and GR&R are preferred.
