We are recruiting a Business Development Manager in Eastleigh to work either full time or part time. You will be a key player in the continual growth of the business and develop and deliver a business development strategy. You will be a highly motivated and personable individual with a track record in establishing and nurturing excellent client relationships in a B2B business environment.

The role includes the identification of sales leads, pitching goods or services to new and existing clients and when appropriate, developing new tailor-made products in collaboration with the Operations Director and suppliers. You will be analytical and numerate with excellent inter-personal skills. Experience of being able to successfully respond to and win contracts through tender processes would be an advantage.   


Description of Duties and Responsibilities

Your overall job purpose will be to maximise revenue and profitable sales by nurturing existing client relationships and developing new business. You will:

  • analyse current demand for and profitability of current products in order to inform and jointly formulate the Company’s future business development strategy
  • work closely with the Managing Director, Operations Director and relevant suppliers in order to ensure that the Company is able to provide, market and sell an optimised range of products to existing and new customers
  • adopt an entrepreneurial approach towards identifying and developing entirely new products including forging cooperative relationships with potential partner companies
  • develop and maintain a “key customer account” and “sales pipeline” approach towards future revenue and profit growth
  • lead the enhancement of the Company’s brand and website presence
  • develop and implement appropriate marketing and promotion plans using all relevant media channels
  • manage and interpret customer needs by gaining a good understanding of the customers' development plans and by developing an excellent working relationships

  • adopt a flexible, team-oriented approach internally and quickly build excellent and trusted relationships with suppliers, customers and industry players with a commitment to exceed customer expectations
  • maintain a high awareness of competitor propositions, regional activity and industry trends to validate and further adapt the Company’s products, services and market proposition to maximise business development opportunities


Ideal qualifications, skills and experience:

  • B2B sales experience with a track record of winning and nurturing new customers
  • Educated to a minimum of A Level/HNC or equivalent
  • Articulate, persuasive and driven to achieve
  • Well organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication and marketing experience
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to share your knowledge with clients
  • The ability to forge strong relationships with existing and potential clients
