EMEA Accountant

Our client is seeking a qualified accountant to support the EMEA region.

POSITION SUMMARY:   

Responsible for various journal entries in the general ledger for assigned country/region. Performs other accounting functions such as month-end closings,
online banking, budget forecasting, expense processing and audit inquiries.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Reviews, reconciles and posts monthly accounts receivable, accounts payable and fixed asset journals into the general ledger. Monthly, reviews, reconciles posts, recurring, and adjustment journal entries to the general ledger. Maintains reconciliations and supporting schedules for the general ledger accounts as necessitated by the companies regulatory requirements.

Enters, reviews or approves payments for companies on online banking systems.Processes the monthly closing and financial analysis as directed by supervisor. Assists in preparation and management of budgets and cash flow forecasts and comparisons of current budgets to actuals. Provides support for project expense processing, investigator grant processing, project invoicing, and project reporting.Provides support to the Line Manager during the audit to assist with various aspects of audit enquiries.  Assists Line Manager with miscellaneous projects that may be assigned from time to time. Maintains monthly analysis and reconciliation of key accounts identified for the year end audit.

EDUCATION/SKILL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related education and experience, or qualified member or finalist of a professional
accountancy body, plus strong financial and accountancy experience. Requires moderate experience working in the finance department of an
internationally-oriented business. Experience working with a computerized accounting package is essential; Oracle Financials a plus. Experience working with an electronic banking software: HSBCNet a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Word is required and at least intermediate Excel is essential.  Familiarization with Microsoft Access and Outlook is ideal.

Requires exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organizational and team-oriented skills.  Excellent financial, communication and interpersonal skills are required.

The ability to perform several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines is necessary.
