Operations Director (Associate Level Director) required to oversee the running of a warehouse and largely manual assembly operation in Winchester.
The factory employs 60 people and assembles and dispatches approximately 45000 sku’s annually consisting of high end interior lighting and furniture. The factory receives goods from a large variety of suppliers and ships product worldwide, approximately 50% to the USA and the rest primarily to the UK and Europe through a network of direct clients and distributors.
The Operations Director will be responsible for overseeing and controlling the complete flow including the goods receiving process, stock management, scheduling of production in accordance with the production targets, picking of components for assembly, assembling products through to packing and final dispatch. In addition, they will be required to work closely with the Technical & Quality Control team to ensure quality targets are met. Communication with the sales and marketing functions is also an essential part of the job. The successful candidate will also be responsible for H&S, factory maintenance and personnel management of the factory staff.
They will report directly to the Managing Director who will set the production and productivity targets.
They will have the following team : Operations Manager, Warehouse Manager, Production Manager, Dispatch Manager & Production Scheduler. They will work closely with our Purchasing Director and Supply Chain Manager to ensure the smooth running of the production chain and the achievement of continuous quality and productivity improvements.
The successful candidate will have run a comparable operation before. Experience with electrical products and the standards and regulations pertaining to them would be an advantage but is not essential. Previous experience implementing and managing systems to aid and improve factory operations is an essential.
Salary will be commensurate with experience plus car and pension.
