1-1 Recruitment are working with a UK Top 20 Accountancy Practice with offices across the South of England. This new role will be based in the payroll department in their Newbury office, where the key duties will include processing client payrolls involving weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly and annual payrolls for a diverse range of businesses and dealing with payroll queries.
Key duties will include
·Processing client payrolls ensuring comprehensive payroll records are kept
·Processing of new starters and leavers incorporating payroll changes that have been notified by agreed cut off dates
·Answering and resolving payroll queries, seeking support when required
·Developing and maintaining relationships with clients complying with all payroll procedures/checklists
·Dealing with HMRC queries on behalf of clients
·Keeping up to date with new payroll legislation and compliance
·Ensure changes are introduced to payrolls
·Correctly setting up PAYE schemes
·Submitting CIS monthly returns
·Auto enrolment activities including setting up pension schemes in the payroll system, running pension dashboards through payroll and uploading relevant data to the pension provider.
Skills and Experience
·Deadline driven and organised
·Proven numeric skills.
·Ability to multi-task and co-ordinate on a series of different payrolls concurrently.
·Good level of IT literacy, experience of Sage 50 and Star payroll is advantageous but not essential.
·Competent oral and written communication skills with client, HMRC and the team.
·Good applied knowledge of Payroll legislation and compliances. Understanding/experience with auto enrolment queries very advantageous.
·Actively seeks to enhance expertise and knowledge through self-development.
