Graduate Software Developer - £23,000 - £24,000 - Basingstoke, Hampshire

Purpose of role

The development of the Enterprise Cash Management (ECM) software, including the web and

interface development.

Main duties and responsibilities

Design and Development of new modules and reports for our ECM suite of software


  • Delivery of projects on-time and to specification with an appropriate level of quality.

  • Liaising with pre-sales, implementation, support and other development team members

    to improve processes, to determine innovative solutions and assist with any issues

    related to development work carried out.

  • Fixing defects/analysing problems in ECM modules not necessarily developed by one


  • Providing accurate task estimation to development team leader and ability to provide

    accurate progress reports.

  • To support the behaviour of working as a team, sharing best practice and collaborating

    with colleagues outside of own sphere of business.

  • To ensure full participation in the performance management process and maintain an up

    to date record of all training and development activities/programs.

  • To always act and behave in a way compliant with all company guidelines and

    policies, especially those relating to values and behaviours, environmental health and

    safety, ethics and codes of conduct, as it is through living our values that we strengthen

    the culture of our business.

What we’re looking for in the Graduate Software Developer

  • Computer study related degree, including topics covering object-oriented design and

  • design patterns, data structures, algorithms

  • SQL skills

  • C# programming with Visual Studio

  • ASP.NET 


  • Software engineering degree.

  • Experience of TFS

  • WCF Services

  • Experience of finance industry.

  • Experience of Jira or similar workflow management tools.

  • Knowledge or experience of Agile and in particular Scrum development


  • Excellent written and oral English language skills

  • Good knowledge of MS Word and Excel

  • Ability to pro-actively research areas of product/code where one has limited

    knowledge and be able to determine the correct solution.

  • Accurate individual task estimation and accurate reporting of progress.

  • Demonstrate good understanding of the product being worked on (the successful

  • candidate will be given initial training and will be expected to widen their knowledge

    with self-training).
