1-1 Recruitment are working with a leading central Basingstoke client to recruit for an experienced Business Support Manager.

This role will work closely with the key stakeholders within the company including, Business Unit Managers and external principles to support and grow the business in terms of opportunities and partnerships with our principles. To lead and motivate the Business Support Team, to provide excellent customer service to their clients and sales teams by living the Company core values

Key Accountabilities

Sales Orientated Focus

  • Be responsible for proactively building processes & systems that will enable generation of new sales leads and monitoring through the CRM system
  • Proactively build and develop customer engagement flows to ensure the company is engaging with it’s customer base on a continuous basis ensuring feedback is received, reviewed and acted upon with the Head of Operations and the relevant Business Unit Manager
  • Build and deliver weekly and monthly dashboards to the Business Unit Managers, as appropriate, on sales leads and activities and highlight any areas of concern and improvements and opportunities that can be made 
  • Work with the Business Unit Managers and National Sales Managers to improve relationship with key account holders and generate any potential leads that come from the Business Support Team, this will involve regular client visits and internal and external presentations
  • Support all external customers, distributors or direct end users, ensuring they are fully supported both technically and commercially with the aim of growing the companies brand awareness and sales pipeline opportunities
  • Act as the escalation point for the Business Support Team with regards to complaints and queries and resolutions of issues ensuring corrective and preventative action is taken 

People Management

  • Coach the Business Unit Support Team to develop quality relationships with potential and existing customers to distinguish the company from its competitors
  • Lead and motivate the Business Support Team in their day to day activities by supporting and providing guidance and expertise, when required, to ensure that we provide a pro-active and adaptable approach to the customer’s requirements
  • Ensure the setting and monitoring of team and individual objectives & KPI’s in support of overall department and company strategic and quality objectives. Hold regular team and 1:1 meetings to discuss performance
  • To recruit, train and retain team members to develop their potential and to drive a ‘continuous improvement’ culture at all times
  • Conduct annual appraisals of employees and their development plans, with an emphasis on regular monthly one-on-one sessions for informal ‘two way’ feedback with direct reports
  • Maintain Company Policy and adherence to ISO9001/13485 requirements / SOP’s and effective e usage of the Pilgrim system by all staff for Document Control, Complaints and CAPA handling/resolution, Ensuring all complaint and queries are handled in a professional manner and within set deadlines

Key Performance Indicators

  • A successful and capable Business Support Team, which are engaged and willing to provide excellent customer service levels
  • As a key liaison to the business and our principal suppliers, professional, proactive and value added services are provided to the expected standard for this role and to ensure overall customer satisfaction
  • Ensuring Corrective Action and Preventive Action is a key responsibility of this role to minimise re-occurrences and avoid issues arising
  • Providing meaningful and regular communications with key stakeholders on the business support function
  • Continuous improvement of the business support function
